Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Reveals New Zombies Features Coming in Season 2

Summary

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 introduces a co-op pause feature for Zombies mode.
  • AFK Kick Loadout Recovery lets players rejoin with their original loadout after being kicked for inactivity.
  • Separate HUD presets for multiplayer and Zombies offer enhanced customization.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Season 2 is bringing exciting updates, particularly for Zombies fans. This highly anticipated update builds upon the enduring popularity of Zombies, a mode that debuted over a decade ago in World at War and continues to thrive in Black Ops 6. Treyarch is committed to enhancing the Zombies experience with immersive new locations and gameplay improvements.

While Season 2 delivers substantial multiplayer changes, Zombies receives significant attention as well. Beyond the new Tomb map, players can expect several features designed to elevate their gameplay. A key addition is the co-op pause option, allowing players in the same party to pause the game collaboratively—a highly requested feature since the game's launch.

Call of Duty Reveals Black Ops 6 Zombies Changes for Season 2

  • Challenge Tracking & Near Completion (Zombies and Multiplayer): Manually track up to 10 Calling Card and 10 Camo Challenges per mode. The system also highlights Challenges nearing completion, aiding discovery and progress. Tracked and near-completion Challenges are visible in the lobby and options menu.
  • Co-op Pause: The party leader can pause the game for strategic planning or breaks during intense high-round runs.
  • AFK Kick Loadout Recovery: Players kicked for inactivity can rejoin with their original loadout preserved.
  • Separate HUD Presets for Zombies and Multiplayer: Customize HUD settings independently for Zombies and multiplayer, eliminating the need to switch between presets.

The new co-op pause feature complements "AFK Kick Loadout Recovery," mitigating frustration from unexpected disconnections. Losing progress in a Zombies run can be disheartening; this feature ensures players can seamlessly rejoin with their equipment intact.

The ability to create separate HUD presets for each mode streamlines the experience, while the challenge tracking system simplifies progress through the extensive Calling Card and Camo collections. Season 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches January 28, 2025.
