Treyarch is celebrating 115 Day with a slew of announcements for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, including the unveiling of a new map, "The Tomb."

This annual January 15th event brings a comprehensive blog post detailing upcoming zombie-themed surprises. The highlight is The Tomb, a desert-themed Zombies map launching with Season 2 on January 28th. This follows Season 1's "Citadelle des Morts," adding another chapter to the Zombies saga.

Treyarch's narrative summary reveals that Weaver, Grey, Carver, and Maya, following Gabriel Krafft's instructions, investigate an excavation site to secure the Sentinel Artifact. These ancient catacombs, potentially dating back to 2500 B.C.E., remained undisturbed until the early 1900s, hinting at a deeper mystery.

The Tomb's connection to British archaeologist Sir Archibald Fotherington-Smythe is teased, though further story details remain scarce.

Gameplay-wise, The Tomb offers a "Liberty Falls"-esque experience: compact environments emphasizing replayability and hidden Easter eggs. Treyarch also hints at a reimagined Wonder Weapon inspired by past titles and the return of a classic SMG.

Season 2 also promises quality-of-life improvements, including community-requested features: tracking up to 10 Calling Card and Camo challenges (Zombies and Multiplayer), a co-op pause option for Zombies (party leader initiated), separate HUD presets for Zombies and Multiplayer, and the ability to rejoin Zombies matches with your loadout after disconnection.

To celebrate 115 Day, Black Ops 6 players receive double GobbleGum earn rates and double player, weapon, and Battle Pass XP until 10 AM PT on January 21st. Treyarch also shared Directed Mode statistics, revealing over 480 million hours played. The team notes that Directed Mode's average Main Quest completion rate has more than doubled since its launch, indicating its success in onboarding new players.

The upcoming release of The Tomb will be particularly noteworthy given Activision's recent admission of recasting some beloved Zombies characters due to the SAG-AFTRA strike.
