BG3 Patch 8 Is So Big, It Needs To Be Stress Tested

Larian Studios has launched a Stress Test update for Patch 8 of Baldur's Gate 3, a crucial step before the patch goes live. This article dives into what the stress test involves and provides insights into the upcoming Patch 8.

Patch 8 Stress Test Update 1 Arrives With Bug Fixes

BG3 Patch 8 Is So Big, It Needs To Be Stress Tested

Larian has released an update to the Patch 8 Stress Test, addressing numerous bugs, crashes, and scripting errors. A notable fix ensures Gale consumes magical items as intended. This update is exclusively available to those participating in the Patch 8 stress test, with non-testers needing to wait for the final release to experience the enhancements.

Key improvements in this update include ensuring containers in inventories retain their contents upon destruction, simplifying screenshot processes in Photo Mode for Steam Deck users, enhancing pose responsiveness, improving cross-play functionality, updating the Booming Blade tooltip values, and resolving several crash issues. For a detailed list of these enhancements, visit the official Baldur's Gate 3 website.

As one of the last major updates before Larian moves on from Faerûn, Patch 8 promises extensive new content. It introduces platform cross-play, over 12 new subclasses, including a Death Domain Cleric, a Path of Giants Barbarian, and an Arcane Archer Fighter, and the much-anticipated Photo Mode.

Photo Mode Is As Customizable As It Can Be

While awaiting the official release of Patch 8, players can explore a detailed sneak peek video on how to maximize the new Photo Mode. Larian encourages players to get the "Absolute most out of Photo Mode from the start."

Photo Mode offers extensive flexibility, accessible during adventures, combat, and multiplayer sessions hosted by the player. You can arrange companions and characters in various poses, with or without party members, and even add whimsical elements like a jumping frog. The free-moving camera allows for perfect shot angles.

Enhance your photos further with post-processing effects, stickers, and frames. Note, however, that during dialogues and cinematic cutscenes, you're limited to adding post-process effects and cannot alter poses.

Larian plans to release additional tips and tricks videos to help players unlock their full creative potential with Photo Mode, making it a feature to look forward to in Patch 8.
