Iconic Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his roles in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and numerous other titles, has shared a heartfelt message as he recovers from a severe medical emergency. Last week, Johnson was found "barely alive" in his hotel room, leading to a critical situation where he was placed in a coma.

A video of Johnson was uploaded to a GoFundMe page, which has raised an impressive $174,653 to help cover his medical expenses and other bills. In the video, Johnson expressed his gratitude, saying, "I found out there's a lot of love in this world that I didn't know was out there and I'm grateful to each and every one of you."

Johnson was in Atlanta to host a benefit event for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation. After flying down and checking into his hotel, concerns arose when he failed to appear at the event. His wife, Kim Johnson, called the hotel, prompting security and emergency medical technicians to intervene. They struggled to find a pulse, highlighting the severity of his condition.

Reflecting on his ordeal, Johnson remarked, "Rumors of my demise, well they weren't exaggerated. It was very close, very close. But I'm still here." He credited his survival to the quick actions of his wife and son, who alerted security, leading to his timely hospitalization and subsequent coma, which lasted five days.

Johnson expressed deep appreciation for the support he received, particularly acknowledging the efforts of his friends Bill Glasser and Shari Elliker, who organized the GoFundMe campaign. He also thanked the National Alzheimer's Association for their support in bringing his family to see him, and Ted Leonsis, chairman of the Washington Capitals' parent company, for a generous $25,000 donation.

Bethesda, where Johnson has contributed to many beloved titles, showed their support on social media, which Johnson acknowledged warmly, saying, "You say that I'm your friend. I am. Always will be. Love you guys." He also extended his thanks to fans who have donated and shown support in other ways, affirming, "I love you all. I'm not going anywhere."

Looking forward, Johnson is determined to recover, stating, "It's going to be a while as I work my way back but I'm coming back. I look forward to seeing and having you all hear me then. Cheers."

In addition to his video game work, which includes notable roles like Ron Hope in Starfield, Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, and various characters in other Bethesda titles, Johnson has also made appearances in film and television, showcasing his versatile talent.
