Battlefield 6 Suffers Significant Leaks Ahead of Official Multiplayer Reveal

Later today (July 31), EA will unveil the first official glimpse of Battlefield 6's highly anticipated multiplayer mode. However, before this reveal, the shooter has been hit by a string of major leaks.

Not only has part of the new trailer leaked, offering us an exclusive look at vehicles, destructible environments, and fresh mechanics expected upon Battlefield 6's release later this year (rumored for October), but Insider Gaming has also reported on open beta dates.

According to Insider Gaming, three beta tests are scheduled for August, beginning with a 48-hour closed event on August 7. Access codes will be available via Twitch drops for viewers watching content creator streams during the multiplayer reveal or through game pre-orders. An open beta is then expected to launch on August 9 and run for two days, followed by another session lasting 72 hours from August 14-17.

Although unconfirmed, it's believed that pre-orders will go live later today following EA's presentation of further details regarding Battlefield 6's multiplayer modes.

We shouldn't be overly surprised by these leaks; everything related to Battlefield 6 has been leaky since its initial announcement, with developer DICE citing "loads of feedback from the very active testers selected." Unlike Battlefield 2042's lukewarm reception, fans appear quite satisfied with what they've seen so far, and for a while, EA wasn't even attempting to remove leaked assets. So far, evidence of a new drag mechanic and the ability to cling to vehicles has emerged, alongside improved in-game movement, 3D maps, enhanced destruction, quality-of-life improvements, and glimpses of the start of a battle royale match.

Prior to EA's full Battlefield 6 reveal, a short campaign teaser was posted online last week, highlighting a major conflict. Set in the near future, Battlefield 6's single-player mode will depict NATO under attack: its base in Georgia is struck, the British territory of Gibraltar is invaded, and NATO's secretary general is assassinated at the organization's Brussels headquarters by a group called Pax Armata.

The wait for Battlefield 6 has been long. It was first announced way back in 2021. Since then, we've seen early concept art and confirmed that the game will be set in a modern era. Despite various rumors, however, it won't cost $80.
