Oni Press has officially taken the reins of the beloved Adventure Time franchise, and they’re diving headfirst into Ooo’s whimsical chaos with their upcoming monthly comic series. The next major story arc, titled "Friends to the End," is set to unfold in Adventure Time #5, and IGN has an exclusive first look at the stunning cover art.

This exciting issue is written by Nick Winn (Silver Sprocket’s Bloody Mary) and illustrated by Kenzie Bugg (Adult Swim’s Tuca and Bertie), both bringing their unique flair to the Land of Ooo. Winn and Bugg also contributed variant covers, joining artistic talents Shelli Paroline, Braden Lamb, and Agustin Morales in showcasing the vibrant spirit of Adventure Time. Additionally, issue #5 features a special backup story penned by Derek Ballard, a writer and storyboard artist from the original animated series.

Here’s Oni Press’ official synopsis for the issue:

Fresh off a wild dance battle in outer space, Finn and Jake receive shocking news—Billy has reappeared, and he’s in the heart of the Computer Kingdom?! Eager to retrieve the Enchiridion for Computer Princess and prove he’s a real hero (not just a kid with a sword), Finn rushes into action. But something’s off—Billy isn’t quite what he seems. What secrets lie buried in Computer Princess’s past? And what ominous threat looms over Finn’s destiny? Surely… it’s nothing too evil. Right?!?!
