The smaller footprint accommodates a 16-inch display and a standard laptop keyboard without a dedicated numpad or an ethernet port. Yet, it retains the capability to house the same powerful internal specs, including the Intel Core Ultra 9 HX processor and up to an Nvidia RTX 5090 GPU, thanks to its robust cooling system.

Four models are available at a discount this Memorial Day. The $2,850 model features RTX 5070 Ti mobile graphics. The $2,999.99 and $3,150 models come equipped with an RTX 5080, while the $3,650 model offers the top-tier RTX 5090.

The Alienware Area-51 laptops are powered by the formidable Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, which boasts a max turbo frequency of 5.4GHz, 24 cores, and a 40MB L2 cache. According to Passmark, this processor is among the fastest mobile CPUs available, rivaling the AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX3D.

Notebookcheck reports that the RTX 5070 Ti mobile GPU is the true successor to the RTX 4070, matching the performance of the RTX 4080. However, the RTX 5070 falls behind, aligning with the RTX 4070's performance. Both GPUs should comfortably handle any game at the native 1920x1200 resolution.

Tom's Hardware states that the RTX 5080 mobile GPU is 15%-20% more powerful than the RTX 4080 and about 5% more powerful than the RTX 4090. It offers a better value than the pricier RTX 5090, lagging only by about 15% while being nearly $1,000 cheaper. The 16-inch model weighs 7.5 pounds, and the 18-inch model weighs 9.6 pounds.
