Japanese Mahjong is an engaging game that follows the traditional rules of the Japanese style. To play, you'll use the slider at the bottom of the screen to select tiles and tap to discard them. The ultimate goal is to complete a winning hand, which consists of four Melds and one Pair. Here's an example of a winning hand:

However, not all hands are valid if they involve Chi, Pon, or Open Kan. Be cautious when forming hands with the numbers 1 and 9 through Chi or Pon, as they may not be approved.

In Japanese Mahjong, you need at least one valid hand to win. You can enhance your hand by declaring Reach, which costs 1,000 points. Note that you cannot declare Reach if you have already performed Chi, Pon, or Open Kan. A closed hand, where no tiles are taken from other players, will yield higher points.

Understanding the concept of a Lost Hand is crucial. A Lost Hand occurs when you are Waiting for a winning tile, but you cannot win off someone else's discard because you've already discarded a winning tile yourself. Even with a Lost Hand, you can still win by self-drawing the necessary tile.

The key to success in Japanese Mahjong is never to allow your opponents to win by discarding a tile they need. Always analyze the other players' discards to strategize and secure your win.
