The Kiwanis Club of New Kingston (KCNK) is thrilled to introduce the KCNK Little Bee Spelling App, designed for children aged 4 to 9. This educational app, sponsored by Grace Kennedy Money Services (GKMS) and Western Union (WU), offers an engaging way for young learners to master spelling through three distinct modes: Learning Mode 1, Learning Mode 2, and Competition Mode.

The app is perfect for on-the-go learning as it requires no internet connection. Each of the three modes includes 10 progressive levels, with each level containing at least 15 words to learn. The words remain consistent across all modes for each level, ensuring a structured learning experience.

In Learning Mode 1, children spell words by tapping each letter from left to right. The app audibly pronounces each letter, allowing kids to repeat and learn. Mistakes can be easily corrected by tapping on the error, and students can replay the word by clicking the little bee icon. To progress, students must correctly spell each word, completing all words to advance to the next level.

Learning Mode 2 challenges students with jumbled letters. They must rearrange these letters to spell the word correctly. Like in Mode 1, errors can be undone, and the word can be replayed using the little bee icon. Success in spelling each word is required to move forward and complete the level.

For those who enjoy a bit of competition, Competition Mode adds an extra layer of challenge. Here, students are given jumbled letters with additional distracting letters. They must spell the word correctly within a timed setting, with each word's time contributing to the level's total. Ten random words from the level's pool are selected, and the goal is to complete the level as quickly as possible. The leaderboard on the main page displays each player's times, encouraging friendly competition.

Students can personalize their experience by entering their name, age, parish, and school in the settings. They can also reset the game and start anew from this page. It's important for players to wait until a letter is fully pronounced before selecting the next one. Both students and parents are encouraged to take screenshots of the leaderboard to share with teachers.
