FortiToken Mobile

FortiToken Mobile is a secure One Time Password (OTP) generator app designed to provide Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for enhanced account protection. As an OATH-compliant solution, FortiToken Mobile supports both event-based and time-based OTP generation, making it a flexible and reliable authentication tool for mobile users.

As the client-side component of Fortinet’s robust authentication ecosystem, FortiToken Mobile integrates seamlessly with FortiOS, FortiAuthenticator, or FortiToken Cloud—acting as the OTP validation server or service. This ensures your organization benefits from a highly secure, easy-to-manage, and cost-efficient strong authentication process.

Privacy & User Control

Security and user privacy are central to the design of FortiToken Mobile. The application does not have the ability to:

• Modify system settings on your device
• Capture or transmit audio/video
• Take photos or record videos
• Access or send emails
• Monitor browser history

Notifications and setting changes require explicit user permission. Additionally, FortiToken Mobile cannot remotely wipe your device. Any access to device information is strictly limited to verifying the OS version for app compatibility purposes.

During manual token setup—including third-party tokens or token transfers—users may input sensitive data such as email addresses or token seeds.

Required Permissions

Although FortiToken Mobile does not alter settings without your consent, certain permissions are necessary for proper functionality:

• Camera Access: Required for scanning QR codes during token activation
• TouchID / FaceID: Used to secure access to the app
• Internet Access: Needed for token activation and receiving push notifications
• Email Integration ("Send Feedback by Email"): Automatically fills the "Sender" field
• Internal File Sharing: Allows file preparation for email attachments when sending feedback
• Device Wake Lock: Ensures the phone remains active during internal database upgrades to prevent data corruption
